Opening Ceremony 9th April 2010

The official opening of the Port Fairy Men's Shed was held on 9th April 2010.

The Shed was opened by MLA for Western Victoria, Jaala Pulford during a ceremony held  in front of 150 guests.

President, Don Stephens, welcomed all to the ceremony and spoke enthusiastically about the journey undertaken by the Committee of Management to get the Shed to its present condition.

The weather on the day was nothing short of "attrocious" with persistent, heavy rain.  As such, our initial plan to get the ribbon cut and then allow guests inside to view the Shed had to be shelved as all 150+ guests crammed inside to listen to the formalities before Jaala Pulford officially cut the ribbon and declared the shed as open.

The CEO of the Moyne Shire Council, Brett Stonestreet, was also invited to offically open the Broadband for Seniors Kiosk that was also set up in the Shed.

The day, despite the weather being a little un-kind, was nevertheless an outstanding success.  After the ceremony guests were treated to a great lunch put on by the "Yambuk Ladies".
